My association with St Joseph’s School started when I was a pupil at the school, more years ago than I care to remember. More recently my two daughters also attended St Joseph’s before moving on to 6th Form, Higher Education and employment.
I have been a Foundation Governor at St Joseph’s for over 8 years and currently serve on three committees: Leadership and Management, Outcomes and Catholic Ethos. I was Chairperson of Outcomes Committee for 5 years and now chair the Catholic Ethos Committee. I have been involved in several Working Parties over the years as well as serving on the Pupil Welfare Committee. I am also the designated governor with responsibility for RE, and enjoy a close working relationship with the RE Department.
As a Foundation Governor not only do I continue to help strive for academic excellence for the school, I also want to ensure that all pupils leave school with the life skills necessary to equip them for later life, whilst being fully committed to the catholic distinctiveness of the school.
I have worked all my working life in administration in either local government departments or educational establishments, this, along with my commitment and involvement within the Parish has given me a wide range of experience and skills to draw upon in my role of governor.
