Walking Footballers raise money for good causes

The recent charity Walking Football match between St Joseph’s and The Parents and Coaches of Allerdale Girls Football Club raised almost £1100.00 for Cancer Research and the British Heart Foundation. The match was held at Workington Cricket Club who gave their facilities for free..

The Walking Football club was an initial project that started in 2016 with funding through Sports Officer Rebecca Stamper at Allerdale Council. The last year has seen strong growth in the Sport nationwide and this has been reflected in an influx of new players at the club. Sessions are held at St Joseph’s on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 6pm.
